Up coming Mini Art Modern US tank crew.
Posted by Gear Head 6 on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 10:37 PM

In the past Mini Art never did any subject after 1945 but they are now coming out with a modern US tank crew as the first in their planned modern series.

The set consists of five standing figures in digital camouflage including body armor.  They look like they're leaning against the tank or standing in the opened hatches on the turet.  One figure, obviosly the driver. has a full face mask.  Another is wearing what are probably molded on sun glasses.  It would be nice if they provided a clear part for the eye wear but they never do.

It's allways good to see someone else doing modern 1/35th scale figures to go along with the modern armor kits that have been coming out.  This one looks like it has possibilities.

Here is the pic.

To premept the "When do these guys represent?" question...

They represent US Army Soldiers from about '07 to present. This is based on the IOTV body armor. The USMC uses a different style body armor, as do other countries. The guy in the fleece jacket could be used a little more universally, but still the same time frame since he is wearing ACUs which were first issued in about '06.

Thanks Gino, I wasn't exactly sure where they were usable, that clears up a lot.

Those look good and thank for the box art image sir.

Does anybody know if the uniform they are wearing are just the standard ACUs or did they do a ACU pattern on the nomex fabric of the CVC uniform similar to what was done for aviators with woodland camo on their flight uniform?

I believe they are nomex CVCs in ACU (UCP) camo.
