Italian mechanic figure

Thanks guys for some good ideas. I've got the Italian tank crew set, so yes I could use one of them guys as a mechanic. Not sure where I could get hold of a 1/35 civilian mechanic from? Possibly it would be easier to get hold of one in a 1/24 scale as manufacturers do a lot of sport cars in that scale. Whilst I haven't seen photos of Italian army mechanics I guess they didn't wear differently to the other soldiers in their unit. What I lack is a plastic figure standing in a pose I want, namely bending over to take a look at the engine or kneeling beside the car - except that I have two German figures from the Tamiya's tank maintenance set. I have spare heads of Italians wearing those skull caps so what I'll do is swap one of them for the head that came on the figure, that way he'll at least look more Italian. I think I'll be satisfied with that. Some of the Italian tank crew will be included in the diorama as well.

The center figure in the blue coveralls might make a good mechanic...

Mechanics don't have their own distinctive uniforms, do they? I'd go for a civilian look - overalls or something like that, maybe an army field cap if italians had something like that. But even that wouldn't be practical - if you crawl under the car the cap is sure to get dirty anyhow - that's trouble from the sarge, to be sure. So I'd go for something dirty looking and civilian. It could also pay off to look for pictures of a mechanic from the thirties, forties and fifties - references are always a good thing to look at. Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Or there has to be a Italian aircraft ground crew somewhere they can double as a car mechanic

perhaps it can be a local mechanic working for the Italian Army? A civilian mechanic
