Thanks for the kudos, folks!

Gamera, you must have the psychic powers of Professor X...I actually built a Wolfman kit a few years ago! The hairy guy and Steve Rogers look quite awesome when they're facing off against each other:

Tanker Builder, Good eye! lol. I should have taken a few close ups, I didn't forget about getting his boots a bit dirty:

Nice job! I like Captain America but I always considered John Steed and Emma Peel the real first "Avengers" ;)

Oh wow, both the Cap and the base came out great, really nice work there!

You should build the Wolfman next and postion them like the Cap is tackling him Stick out tongue

Hey folks, I've had some login issues with the site recently. I've resolved them with customer service and I'm back on the forum! I've since completed Cap, as you'll see below. I used Model Master paints for the figure, which didn't take very long to put together. I'm not near my workshop right now but if you would like to know which particular shades of paint I used, just let me know! After the paint was dry, I gave Cap a subtle wash with black acrylic paint mixed with water and dish detergent. Then I sprayed the model with testor's dullcote.

The thing I had the most fun with however was the display base. After I primed it, I mixed a solution of acrylic paint, glue and plaster of Paris together and brushed it on. After it dried, I applied more white glue followed by a liberal application of model railroading ballast. The back walls were painted with Krylon American Accents stone textured spray paint. I hand brushed the grout with black enamel paint. The pieces of wood were painted with artist's oils, and grass/plants were added using model railroading grass and fake moss. The mud puddle was painted on with gloss brown paint, and the clear plastic splash pieces were dry brushed with the same paint.

All in all, this build was great! I had a lot of fun branching out from my normal airplane and tank builds.

You got a really good deal there, and looks like a nice kit. Lots of parts but I guess I'm used to vinyl kits with the body parts molded in one piece.

I've been into comics for about as long as I've been into models. Next to the Punisher and Deadpool, Captain America is one of my favorite characters. A few years back, a local comic shop was closing not too far from where I live. My friends and I stopped out there to see what items were marked down, and I came across this kit. The shop was originally asking close to 40 bucks for it, but I got it for 15. Not bad! It sat in my stash for about four years, and this weekend I decided to start it. Here goes nothing!
