DESooner: Thanks, actually AMT did get the eyebrows right. I just painted 'em!

Chuck: You can say that again, when I assembled 'Bones' for painting I laid the three heads out, some seroiusly weird proportions going on there. I don't think they look too bad separtly but displayed together like yours it does call attention to the difference.

I don't have the old injection molded Spock figure but I figure he'd be even more out of proportion to the others. Just weird all 'round...

One more comment on scale:  Look at my photo of the figures.  Kirk's head, I think, is too small, while Scotty's looks about right.

You did a great job on his eyebrows. Bones had weird eyebrows. The tunic also looks very good, and I noticed the overall shading. Good job!

Hey those look great Chuck!

And thanks! I didn't think the face looks too bad though a friend told me there are replacement resin heads out there. And the hands are pretty detailed though yeah, way, way too big- these are the hands of a surgeon??? Wink

I found the fit of the pants to the tunic decent, though I had to shave a good bit of the vinyl away. My biggest gripe was the weird posing of the figure's arms. Seems like they should hang at his sides or something, they look like he's just swinging them out front of him for no reason. They are AMT kits though, I didn't really expect the same level of quality as the Geometric Designs Next Generation ones, they were much cheaper though so i guess you get what you pay for.

You did a nice job.  I have built Kirk and Scotty and still have McCoy waiting to be built.  However, after seeing what a terrible likeness the kit's face is,  I may never built him.  Also note the hands are out of scale, way too large.  Same on the other two figures.

In general, these are terrible kits.  The fit of the top half to the lower half of the body, and arms to body, is not even close, and requires tons of putty to make it look right.  Vinyl, in general, is a difficult media to work with.

I finished 'Bones' about two weeks ago for the Star Trek GB and I've been debating about repainting his overly red lips and retaking the photos. They don't look quite so bright in person and I already have these photos on PhotoBucket so what the heck I'm going to go ahead and post them. Plus the photos seem to show more contrast in the skin tones, they look more blended to me in person, of course that's just my word for it.

And does he go under 'Figures' or the 'SF/Fantasy' forum? I dunno so I'm posting him here.

Though sold separtly mine came in a three figure set with Jim and Scotty.
