I've had the Moebius Grandpa and Herman built and primed on the shelf since they were first released, but didn't have the yarbles to paint them.

I'm trying to get serious about figure painting, so these were a good jump off. I went full achromatic because that's how I've always known them.

WOW! Beautiful work! The shading on the faces is superb!!! Against the right backgrounds I'd swear I were looking at a cleaned-up clip from the series.

And I absolutly love the black/white effect. I keep swearing I'm going to pick up the Morbious 'Creature From the Black Lagoon' and try this on him but always end up starting another tank instead. Any tips you can share?

That's funny, I have that on the bench right now. Same deal, I built it a long time ago, never had the nerve to paint it.

Tips are simple, it was much easier than I thought it was going to be.

I used Vallejo Black, White and Airbrush Flow Improver. That's it. A blob of each on a palette, mixed different shades in between the blobs and painted. The stage makeup is kind of absurd, so recreating it isn't that hard.

Getting good photos is a chore because the camera can't figure out the white balance (background paper is white) and keeps giving a yellowish tint.

Lol, well if you do paint him I hope you'll post him here too. I could use the motivation to get my rear in gear.

And neat, I have about a zillion shades of grey (wasn't that a novel or something?) and didn't even think of just mixing my own with black and white.

They look great. Makes me want to try my luck at doing some thing different than tanks and planes!

Do it.

I originally bought these to bust out of a slump. I'm an armor guy, most 1/16 and RC and would typically build some AC to get the *** back. Figures was just an extension of that.

WOW!  This is another fantastic piece!  It really looks like a still from the show.  I can almost hear Al Lewis' voice delivering the line, "Hoiman, let me help Eddie with my magic!"

I've been looking at these kits on line for a while wondering about them. You made them look great. I dig that B/W style!

Very nice work! Would love to see a picture of them without the sepia filter. I'm planning on doing one in B/W myself.

I'm totally jealous! What great work! Been thinking of changing to Vallejo paint does the flow additive make it spray better or cover better or both?

Nice work. I did a few monster models as a kid, now I just might have to give one a try again.

Inspirational and that's coming from someone who avoids figures unless they' re sat in a cockpit at 1/72 scale.
