Ye, i was thinking about doing a WiP thread on it, though of course its mostly painting. But i think i am confidant enough now to put my self forward. It might be a bt slow going as i will probably only work on it one night a week.

I'm not surprised one bit over the realism and awesome detail you have done on this figure. The Waffern SS Soldier is still my favorite

It seems to happen every time. I worry and put off doign somthing and it always ends up easy and better than i had expected. I guess the message there is keep worrying.

 

I have this same problem, especially at work (I work in a body shop), when I get a repair and I can't figure out where to begin!

Ye, will definatly get some pics. I have been to Italy once before, down to Monte cassino, but not to Rome. The one place i really want to see is the temple of Julius Ceasar. He is one of my 'heroes' for want of a better word.

I like those fiction books as well. I've read a 3 book set based on Alexander the Great and The Legion by Simon Scarrow, but not the Forgotten Legion. I'll have to look into those.

Andy, ye, me to, and Greek. I especially like reading books written in the period, even if they have to be taken with a pinch of salf. I am taking the Mrs to Rome for a weekend in June so planning on seeing the forum and colleseum apart from everything else.

 

That's awesome Bish. Please share some pics when you get back! That's someplace the wife and I want to go to too. Jealous of you guys across the pond...you have so much history just a (relatively) short plane or train ride away.

I'm reading S.P.Q.R right now, it's a board history of Rome from "foundation" to the 4th century I think. I also enjoy reading fiction about the Romans. The Forgotten Legion books by Ben Kane are some of my favorites.

Griffin, ye, more than likely. Though i have a felling i chucked them out with the resin off cuts.

This looks fantastic. The fur is great and nice job on the scratch built teeth. You'll probably find the original teeth soon. That's how it goes! Haha

templar, i was really pleased with how those came out. Its al a real learning curve buts doing these busts is really helping me improve my 35th figures.

tex, i first tried Humbrol metal coat but wasn't to keen but went over that with some citadel steel and was mpre pleased with that.

It was just lucky the first one she picked out was one of theres, the Sioux Indian. That was really somthing i would not normally do but very enjoyable. I have looked at other busts but most just don't match theirs. Some just lok cimical or just plain odd. Though i would not mind trying a Life Minitures bust to see what they are like. But there are quite a few of the Youngs ones i want to get includeing a couple more Romans, so these certainly won't be the last.

I really like how those metallics came out!

I agree about Young Miniatures. They always have great sculpting and top notch casting. IMHO, they can't be beat.

Simply fantastic.What really struck me was the fur and the contour of the muscle and veins on the arm.
