Hat tip for having that field dressing pouch facing the right direction!

A number Army Viet Nam scans from hundreds yet to be done:

Have had the great fortune to be on every side of the howitzers.

Yeah, I know the feeling, I sit corrected.  I still use film most of the time, haven't figured out how to transfer my phone shots to photobucket so I just scan the prints.

You may have noticed that I'm very familiar with these uniforms.

If you get another figure from that period, here's a uniform you might try, U.S.A.F. Security Police:

Or the ever popular Tiger Sripes.

The jungle green fatigue shirt and the pouch on the shoulder are too glossy.

The hand grenade ahd a smooth very slight gloss to it. he outer casing was made from a very thin smooth metal shell. The harness, or suspenders as some call it could be any of a variation of colors depending on how long it had been in use and esposed to the sun and rain.

Thanks everyone for comments. Funny looking at it in person the eyes are not as bad,,,Maybe I need new glasses!!

IKAR01 - The uniform is dead flat,,,the glossy is result of bad lighting and a cell phone camera,,, I wore this uniform for awhile early in my 20+ year career as an USMC Infantry officer..so understand the colors and textures,,,Just need to understand photography better! Stick out tongue

I haven't tried a figure in some time but overall it looks good for a first time.  Mine turned out a lot worse.  I do think however that the face is too red, but this could be the picture too.

A couple things about the rest of the figure. The jungle green fatigue shirt and the pouch on the shoulder are too glossy.  The material was flat unless it had just been raining or cleaned using rice starch which gave it a slight sheen, until it got wet.  When this happened you might find a small spot or two on the ground or on your boots.

Looks pretty darn good to me!!!

I agree with Griffin, the eyes look fine but the brows look a little odd.

I think the uniform, webbing, grenades, helmet, face and skin tone look great. The eyes balls look fine. The eyebrows and eyelashes need a little work IMO. They look like make up. The eyebrows are too far above the eyes. Also the ace of spades card doesn't look real. If you scanned a real card and shrunk it with a paint or photo editor on the computer you could print it out? IDK. That's my 2 cents and I don't claim to be any kind of master modeler.  The campaign ribbon is a nice touch.
