John,

Wanted to give you a follow up if you weren't too far along yet.
As you paint your figures, the branch colors used in the piping you want to look for are listed below:

Airlanding, Line Infantry, Volksgrenadiers, Fortress, Reserve, Training, Depot, all use white for their branch color.

Rifle Divisions and brigades use Light Green

Assault troops (Luftwaffe -Sturm), , use Gold Yellow

Mountain units use Light green

Mobile Troops:
Panzer regiments and battalions use Pink
Armored Infantry (Panzer Grenadiers) use Grass Green
Motorized Grenadiers use White
Recon Fusiliers use White
Anti Tank (Panzerjagers) Pink

Artillery:
Artillery units use bright red
Armored artillery, Assault Artillery, AA Artillery, use Bright red
Rocket launcher units use Bordeaux red

Engineers:
Armored Engineers, Mountain engineers and Pioneers use Black

Signals corp use Lemon Yellow

Supply troops use Light Blue
Medical troops use Dark Blue
Veterinary use Crimson

Security Trrops:
MP's use orange

Hope this helps,

Mike

John,
www.aththefront.com has alot of good source pics of uniforms. The cater to the re-enactor community and have alot of valuable info and reference pics. Look there and make the match with your paints.

John, the term field grey is very misleading as the german uniform shade can be anything from a grey to a greenish grey. The colours highlighted by Dan are seem to be a good choice.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

hi everybody, I am planning on bulding a halftrack with some german infantry inside. THe box/instructions say to paint the figures german gray. However on a different box it shows the troops in some form of green. I want the model and figures for the western European front. If any one knows of a website or the colors that they use on their Germans would be helpful.

Tamyia, testors, or model master paints please.
