1:35 Soviet assault infantry clothing
Posted by Hellcat06 on Sunday, January 27, 2019 3:05 PM

Hello all,

I'm new to scale modeling and just finished my 2nd tank. And I want to try my hand at a diorama. My idea is to have the t34-85 with discounting infantry crossing a stream. Now I weathered the tank to look dirty and dusty. I have read in memoirs etc. Of how the columns of tanks etc. Kicked up massive amounts of dirt and dust when it was dry. Being a t34-85 im thinking late spring/early summer 1944. Like operation bagration time frame. I bought the tamiya Soviet assault infantry Kit. With I think 12 figures. Some are wearing the telogreika, others normal summer uniforms with the rain cape. I feel this isn't going to look accurate for the setting. And I haven't found any similar figure kits. I have found tank riders with summer clothing that are kind of at rest on the tank. And none with the SMGs that are typical with Soviet "tankovy deysant" style squads. Anyone have any input, advice?

Zvezda and Dragon also make some tank desant figure sets. My suggestion would be to get all the sets that you can get, and pick one or two figures from each set to man your T-34.
