Warriors & Jaguar Figures
Posted by Hobbie on Monday, April 1, 2019 6:50 AM

Just wondering if some of you were familiar or still working with Warriors and Jaguar 1/35 figures?

Those were all the rage during de 1990's, I was seeing them all over my lifetime reference, french magazine Steel Masters ; I'm now checking them out on e-bay but most of them are still pretty pricey - resin + collector value + overseas shipping are a bad mix I guess!

Do you think they are still up to par or are they showing their age too much?

Jaguar figures are getting harder to find, so the prices you're seeing on e-Bay may be influenced by the collector value. Warriors, however, recently re-released several of their '90s era figures and they are pretty close to their original prices.

I always liked the quality of their figures. They may not be Alpine quality but they're close. I wouldn't pay inflated prices for them though.

Thanks Knighttemplar! I didn't know they were still on the market, I thought they went out of business, like too many of the 90's model brands...

Gamera : yeah, looking at the pictures I feel like the price tag is a bit over the top... Alpine is kind of the Rolls Royce of 1/35 but Warriors still got some interesting postures and subjects... I'll keep my eyes peeled at conventions ;-)

I've worked with Warriors figures. I was disappointed when they discontinued their lines. I fine their figures to be up there in quality with Alpine, but in my honest opinion, I believe Alpine has better figure artists.

I agree ; techniques have evolved so much, we talked about Calvin Tan's work on another thread, it makes a world of difference when you look at his artwork for Alpine compared to the 90's Warriors & co.
