Byzantine Infantry Officer
Posted by Griffin25 on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 5:02 PM

I have been wanting to try a vignette with a Roman or Medieval soldier so I tried my hand at a Byzantine Officer from Romeo. The base is from a Greek Ebayer called Terra Models. It's not going to win any awards but it looks pretty good I think. It's all Vallejo acrylics. If I do something similar again I think I will try the metallic paint in enamels. The acrylic metallic paint didn't cover or flow very well. Trying to get into the helmet to paint the face was another challenge. The shield graphics are a little shaky too. I need to work on stuff like that. Really need to work on my masking teqniuqes. That's one of my lowest skill levels for all types of kits. Think I'm going to try a Helicopter now. I've never built one. Too bad I can't squeeze it into a group build. It's a MI 24 from hobby boss. Thanks for looking.

Worth the wait.  Nice piece and really nice display. And looking at the kit box 54mm?!  Very nice.

Thanks,

If he knew he was about to be attacked by a giant kitty-cat...I think he'd be boldy facing the other direction. (Hopefully with spear in hand!) Big Smile

Great work on the figure, really impressive!

I can finally see the pictures.  Totally worth checking back here.  I think you did a fine job.  His shield looks good to me.  Bookmarked for reference.  Nice work.
