It's a loss to not have these folks. We do talk a lot here about the people who stepped to the plate.

Collect evrything you can about him. If you don't, he will eventually be lost to time.

I couldn't agree more! Thankfully my grandpa saved a bunch of mementos from the war (wartime bring backs like a M35 stanhelm, ss oversea cap, wermacht battle flag, kar 98, etc). We even have the same boots that he wore through out the italian campaign. Truly they were the greatest generation.

Thank you for your kind words! Not to diminish their service, but it seems people to often focus on the airborne and not the countless other divisions who served.

Really nice job.  Great to see figures here, especially well done.  Base looks great, dig the cigarette and the 1000 yard stare.  Nice palette and shading.  And thanks for sharing the pictures.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Great job!!!

And thank God for men like your grandpa...

Outstandind work, nice to see something that's not 101st, or armour.

My wife thinks I procrastinate. I just put things off till she forgets.

Hey All!

I wanted to share one of my projects I finished a while back. This particular piece is dedicated to my grandfather Julius Milton Westberg. My grandfather served in the 88th Inf Division, 351 Inf Regiment from 1943 to 1946, receiving 2 purple hearts and a bronze star finishing the war as a PFC. This is by no means meant to be my grandfather himself, mearly meant to be dedicated to the division to often overlooked. The figure itself is from alpine miniatures and it comes highly recommended.

Here is grandpa himself. Though I never got to meet him, to me he is one of my personal heroes. From the Great Depression to the WW2, he met adversity head on not seeing the need to complain. May he rest in peace. Julius Milton Westberg (1915 - 1995)
