Here is a 1/16th Marine from around 1779, The figure is posed on the fighting top of a man-o-war. Painted in oils

He looks great.  Or as they used to say in Colonial times "He looks coolous and groovious to the maximus".

Oh that's nice work! Nice painting and I like how he's reaching into his pouch for more powder and shot. (Whatever you call it, I've watched a few demos on how to load a musket but can't recall what you called the powder bag and the minie ball)
