Tamiya Desert Yellow is way too dark. If you’re gonna use Tamiya I’d suggest starting with XF-57 Buff, and highlight with XF-55 Deck Tan, their original color, not the newer sandy yellowish shade. Personally I like starting with Humbrol enamel 72 Khaki Drill for the base color.

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

As with DAK uniforms where  no two had the same color due to sun fading and washing/use, the color range is pretty much open to your liking. They started looking new and ended up in a very short time looking faded and worn.

Hello All,

I need help with colors for the British desert khaki uniforms. I'm trying to onvtain the sun fared look. Started with Tamiya desert yellow and tried highlighting with Iraqi Sand color from Vallejo (?). Too dark and highlights too bright? Suggestions for colors would be greatly appreciated. I have a great Warriors figure that I really want to do justice you. (1:35 scale)
