My collection so far ........
Posted by Dodgy on Sunday, January 31, 2021 10:51 PM

Some time ago Keavedog asked me if I could post some photos of the figures that I've done. It took me some time because life got in the way, but here they are. But first let me explain. I like doing figures more than other genres, but I would never say I'm a great figure modeler. I'm an average modeler who enjoys building and painting figures.

This is an old Chas. Stadden figure in white metal and represents a British soldier at Dunkirk. I'm just starting on him, and he is beautifully sculpted.

Looking good!  I'll be following this one.  I just ordered a new figure - been a while.  This mounted Australian Light Horse trooper.  Great movie - The Lighthorsemen.

G'day Johno. Sorry, in Oz we tend to wack an 'O' on everything. I too have ordered the Tommy's War Light Horseman. Although I am ex Navy, I have a mate that runs a significant Light Horse museum here and I used to ride with him. We never did re-enactment stuff, just parades for ANZAC Day, Armistice Day and Australia Day, but it was a lot of fun and all of our kit, from saddles to uniforms and horse furniture, was original. I'm also a keen collector of militaria and have a significant collection of original Light Horse stuff of my own. In the meantime I have some more pics for you.......

Ok. This is another figure I'm working on. It's a Mike French, 'Tiny Trooper" figure and represents an NCO of the Life Guards during Wolseley's Egyptian campaign of 1884/85.

This is a 54mm resin figure of Wyatt Earp. Can't remember the manufacturer.

This is another large scale figure, but I can't remember the manufacturer. Possibly Warriors, Fort Royal Review...... I added a couple of minor bits to make him into an Aussie instead of a Brit.

I think this might have been a Series 75 figure. Can't remember. White metal, nicely cast, but no matter what I did, he always looked like he was going to fall flat on his face. Ah well, finish it and move on.....

This one is a bit of a Sad Sack. It's a 150mm scale fig of a U.S. marine sculpted by Mike Good. The sculpting and deatail are awsome. Sadly his rifle got broken during a move. If anyone out there has a 150mm scale M16 that they would like to part with, I'd be grateful, because then I can return him to his original look.

This is a 54mm Verlinden figure. It's a bit old now and I look at it and think, I should have done this, or that. Whatever.

This is a white metal figure. Can't remember the manufacturer, but it's about 75mm.

Ok. The stuff I'm going to post now is very old. I took a long break from modelling just when my skills were starting to develop, so I had to start all over again. The following is a mixture of unknown one peice resin kits, some New Hope Design and Squadron/Rubin metal kits, and Historex.

Well folks, this is the last one. I apologise for the quality of the photo's, (and the quality of the modeling for those who were expecting something better!). Keavdog, I have delivered. Finally!

Lots if great stuff.  I typically have stuck with 120mm but have done a few 54mm when the subject strikes me.  Thanks for posting!

Thanks,

John

G'day TB. Thanks for the comments. As for the chickens, I thought that in this day and age of PC that it was very funny. But I do posess a warped sense of humour.
