Looking good!

You might try a dark brown wash on the leather jacket. And a lighter wash on the fur texture.

I have only done the base coat on his jacket...it will be shaded and highlighted as well. At the moment, I'm working on the parachute straps.

Sorry, last thing I'd do is try to tell you how to build your own model. My apologies... Embarrassed

its all good ...I appreciate all comments

MR TOM SCHRY

I think that you're on the right track, especially that brown on his flight jacket.  It's starting to look like a well worn or distressed leather.  Looking forward to your next posting.  Do you mind if I ask what paints you"re using?

I use Tamiya Acrylic for base coats and oils for shading and dry brushing.

Nice work on that so far. I've only done 1 Mitches bust, their hans Rudel V bust, and had no issues with it. But i know a few figure/bust modellers from the club i am in and they usually have some sort of issue with them.

Thats an interesting comment Bish, I have been looking at his site and was planning on buying some. Forewarned is forearmed!

There are a couple of British army figures on their i would like, from N Ireland and the Falklands. I think i will get them soon as figures for those conflicts are limited, so will let you know how they look.

You're doing great Thunderball. The leather work is very convincing. I have one of those flying jackets and your work compares bloody well.

That’s looking really sharp.  I do enjoy the few figure wip threads we get.  Thanks for posting.

Thanks, Gamera!  I was lucky, somehow years ago I found that limited edition Robby kit.  It came with black chrome plating, which I thought gave it a special extra touch, so I used it "as is" and did not attempt to paint it.  The resin girl figures are from a garage shop called "Jimmy Flintstone".  I got all of that from CultTVMan, an excellent vendor.

Those are fantastic Chuck! I remember the Wonder Woman, she came out great!

Love Robbie and Altair and the Creature with Julie. I have that Creature figure myself, really need to get the darn thing built.

I agree, I would like to see more figure kits here, too.  Here are some that I built 10 - 15 years ago.  Wonder Woman came out especially nice, and it was fun improvising the Robots with Girls figures.  I haven't built any for a long time, opting for simpler plastic kits.  But I should take a deep breath, and plunge into another one to see if I can still do it justice.

Figure painting is quite popular here in the UK and western Europe. There are a few in the model club i belong to and they produce stunning work. But they all seem to only paint figures, usually after migrating from the plastic kits we build. It seems to be almost a hobby within a hobby and they are a close knit bunch. I think most of them hang out on planet figure. There is one guy who makes the masters that he then sends off to be turned into molds. Its truly amazing seeing a lump of putty wrapped around some wire tunred into a highly detailed figure.

Nice work on getting all the seams filled and cleaned up!

I agree with John, we don't get enough figures here.

Nice job on the joint.  Looking forward to the rest of you build.  We don't get enough figures on these forums.

Thanks,

John

I've been working on this figure for a while. It's given me fits. I'm not sure what happened to this cast but there was large gaps at the shoulder joint and the arms didn't match the torso at all. There was also lines cast in on his back and legs as if the mold was mismatche. I corrected the fit of the arms with styrene rod and super glue and pushed Milliput into the seams and resculpted.
