Not sure where to post this, so here's where I did!!! Does anyone here build cannons?? I'm looking for any info, links, etc to information on cannons like those used on ships in the days of pirates.

Verlinden has a few ship board cannon. Also take a look at http://www.milminwh.com. John has a few cannon kits, though they are primarily land based.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Also run a search for cannons over the internet. There are several companies that make reproduction cannons for re-enactments as well as collectors. While not what you may be looking for, certainly a good source of reference as many of them have good profile information.

Also check the website for the Castillo des San Marcos National Monument in St. Augustine, Fl. They have a large collection of 17th and 18th century spanish and english guns of various sizes. Most of these are on naval carriages or garrison carriages (which are very similar to naval carriages).
