For 1:35 figures, I use a strip of a sprue (with a X-acto # 11, I cut a strip of a sprue), that´s it...

I use strips of paper ...easy to shape and looks realistic. I also use strips for the helmet straps.

Masking tape is quite easy to assemble as it is self adhesive. looks good for 120mm. I've also used it for 1/32 scale ejection seat straps.

For large scale webbing (200mm), solder wicking braid is the best thing. This is copper braid used to soak up solder when de-soldering electrical components. It is available in various thicknesses.

I use bond paper, lead foil, copper foil (avail at hardware stores or craft stores, they sell it by the small 1' roll,), thin sheet brass. All work for a variety of scales.

I've used mylar (drafting film acetate), acetate and the above for strapping, clamps (fuel line clamps, hose clamps, etc)

I really like the idea of using masking tape for nylon slings. I suppose it could work for web gear?

depends on the scale, for 1/35 I tend to use lead foil, with either PE or hand made fuse wire buckles and fittings. For 120mm lead foil is almost too thin, and thined down plastic card works well, usually with brass wire swivels etc. Another alternative for modern nylon slings is masking tape cut into thin strips.

what do y'all use for those? Do you just paint them on the figure?
