I can't really help you there as I usually mix my own from tamiya acrylics for the uniforms . With camo style I go with the usual armor feild colors , grey, dark yellow, redbrown , dark green , flat black, I mix my own light grey green for assault gunner uniforms to match the picture , with faces and washes I use oils exclusively as they don't interact with the tamiya underneath , and create that nasty rippling effect of paint being removed . I have so far only used humbrols for dirt effects on tanks , and they work nicely for that , and go well thru the airbrush . Good luck !

uniform colors for the wermacht at this link ; http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.jsp?query=german+uniforms&page=1&offset=1&result_url=redir%3Fsrc%3Dwebsearch%26requestId%3D5aa148883a8df868%26clickedItemRank%3D3%26userQuery%3Dgerman%2Buniforms%26clickedItemURN%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.angelfire.com%252Fsk2%252Fgermanuniforms%252F%26invocationType%3D-%26fromPage%3DnsBrowserRoll%26amp%3BampTest%3D1&remove_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.angelfire.com%2Fsk2%2Fgermanuniforms%2F as for painting faces I use the bannerman technique here , hers some links for that as well http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/figures/mbheads/mbheads.htm http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/figures/mbface/mbface.htm http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/figures/mbpart2/mbpart2.htm there is no rreally right or wrong way to paint faces , just different techniques , these do work pretty well for me . here is yet another link for uniform colors http://www.dasreich.ca/uniforms.html Pazer crews generally had a black tunic ( jacket ) with black pants , however that was up to the crew or individual , there are many variations here as well , anything from grey green to full camo . hope this helps a bit !

Tiger tank crew uniform colours
Posted by Daveash on Friday, June 25, 2004 6:46 PM
Hi to this forum, I am a regular in the ship and armor sections but this is my first post here. I am building an Academy mid tiger for the Normandy GB at the moment and today from my LHS bargain bin, I got a german tank crew. The box was damaged and one hat missing from the sprue, but apart from that it looks OK. It is a Ukranian made set of 4 crew members as if they are retreating from a wrecked tank. 2 are walking, 1 with another on his back and 1 crawling on the floor. I also have the commander supplied with the Academy kit.
I intend to use these figures with the tank in a dio and although I have info on the vehicle painting, I would like some recommendations on the uniform and equipment colours for the figures.
Once I have the correct colours, I will then need advice on techniques to "bring the figures to life", so to speak. I have experimented with oils on Tamiya crews, but then the emphasis was on the vehicle, so a rub of burnt umber over a flesh base gave some distinction to the faces and most of the uniforms were inside the vehicles..
Sorry for the long post but I think that a clear explanation will return more specific replies.
Thanks in advance
