Is Pegaso good for figurines? I been looking at their 54mm various knights. The detail looks to be something else and the price doesnt seem to be too high...I think. $24 shipped.
ANyone give me some info?

Need links to how to paint this stuff too...some how-to kinda links.

I have a few of their figures and I'm very happy with the quality of casting, fit and detail they have with their figures. Their medieval line is really tops with some great subject matter and poses.

Andrea is also a good source. Second only to Pegaso in my opinion.

Verlinden makes a few resin medievals. The 120mm are very nice.

United Empire has a couple that are really well done. Also in 120mm

Pegaso is just about the best there is in 54mm figures. I've been able to paint some parts separately and attache them to the body with no touch up, let alone filler, needed.

The vallejo link comes up very plain. Click on the English flag and it will give you everything in english. There is a pull down menu with different options regarding product lines. Click on it and the drop down menu will list several products. Click on the model colors and it will bring you to the model colors pages with how-to articles and more of a description of the product. For some reason I can never bookmark the model color pages. It always returns to the main page.

FYI the Andrea line of paints is produced by vallejo.
Michigan Toy Soldier
RedLancer
and a number of other compaines are carrying the vallejo line, and sell them in "packs"

Squadron carries the Andrea line.

I'm working on Airfix's 1/72 B26 right now, but it is more like that Calvin & Hobbs cartoon of Calvin trying to build an airplane. There is a reason I like Figures and Armor....
As I get closer to completing it I'd love to hear your critique of it so I'll post up some pics.

Both are excellent dealers with good turnarond times. I've dealt with both, in person and online, and have no qualms about recommending them. The figure guys in my club hold them both in highest estee.

I second ajlafleche's endorsement. Redlancers is a good source and much less expensive than Michigan Toy Soldier or Squadron in some cases. They have done me right in the past.

Cavalier Miniatures used to have a good selection of medieval and colonial/Napoleonic figures. They also had a great dio kit of Custer's Last Stand. Haven't seen them around in a while, though.

milminwh.com has Andrea's 5 figure vignette of Custer's Last Stand
as well as a series of other 54mm 7th cavalry figures in combat so you could do a large dio. John also has the Andrea Indian figures, including a number of mounted fighting figures.

I have ordered my first figurine yesterday.
Pegaso Italian knight 54mm.
For you Figurine builders... how tall is 54mm. Did I order a really really small figurine or is it ok. Whats it size compared to say... a 1/35 scale armor figure???
If I like this I defintly will be doing figures regularly. Thanks for any input.

Jeff, 54mm is approximately 1/32, so it will be about the same size as an armor figure.

Actually, it will be somewhat larger than your armor figures, minimally by almost 10%, as well as proportionally larger. That would translate to 7 scale inches in height, so your knight mightappear to be 6'7" next to your 6' armor figure. Additionally, there are two 54mm philosophies. One places the 54mm at the eye level and the other at the top of the head. The latter produces a slightly smaller scale figure than the former.

54mm is fine and you'll enjoy that size. 90mm is a little better but there is more subject matter in 54.

The italian knight is a nice figure to start off with.
If you really want to get into doing Medieval stuff, e-mail me and I'll give you a book list that will be very helpful.

For anyone who orders stuff from Redlancers.com they have been Hacked by peoples calling themselves "Persian Underground" . I would suggest anyone who has your card info or anything else on their records immediatly call your bank and card holders so you wont have any probs. I have done all that and I am fine so far. Unfortuantly I dont know if my order is coming or not. I wouldnt dally on protecting yourself if you feel you have been compromised.
