Reaper Miniatures
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 6, 2003 11:23 PM
I was paging through a catalog for Reaper Miniatures recently. Their figures look quite impressive (and so do the prices). I was wondering if anyone has ever dealt with this company and/or purchased their products and what they thought about them.

Thanks in advance. Smile [:)]

I have, and I thought the Product was great. I got an orc peweter figure from them and the kool thing is that your can to some extent reposition the limbs. Dont bend stuff like the sword to much or it will come off.

By the way thanks for the ideas on the Russian armor kits. I found one that I sort of liked. =)

My only complaint about Reaper is that I requested their catalogue twice and have yet to receive it.

It's been almost 6 months.

Makes me feel like my business is wanted.

Well, Why don't you download the Casketworks PDF from their site?, it's kind of a big file, but it will not take 6 months to download...

All of my mini's that I've purchased in the last two years have been Reaper mini's...

Their quality is excellent, detail is also up there...above and beyond anything available that I know of to the Fantasy market..

They prefer you order from local distributors if they are available...almost insistant...which I can understand...but my local shop that carried them was...well, slow in ordering and getting in new mini's.

Check your local availability first...and go from there...

I give them an A+ rating overall..

I have used their line of Pro Paints for figure painting and like the colors they offer. I have found that quite a few of their colors match up real good to simulate US Marine camo HBTs and Marine green HBTs of WW2. If your a military modeler you should check out the colors offered by companies like Reaper, Games Workshop etc.
You might be surprised how many of them will work for your military modeling subjects.

As a once avid D&D player, I have quite a bit of experience with their line. The quality of their metal figures is second only to Citadel or the old Thunder Mountain line, and their cost is unbelievable. Where they really shine, though, is in their Fantasy Dioramas. I recently picked up a set called "Dragons Don't Share," and I must say that I was very impressed. I got over 3 pounds of metal for about $40, and the quality of the casting was superb. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in the fantasy figure gender.

As for the catalogue, you pretty much have to get them from the dealer in your area, as they don't like to send out individual copies.
