The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 12:12 AM
Hopefully everyone interested in seeing this movie already has had a chance to see it at a movie theatre! In my opinion, it was an awesome movie!! The attack on Helm's Deep was awesome. I can't wait for the final movie.

Anyways... Wink [;)]

Is anyone else out there painting/playing LotR miniatures?

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - I finally got my hands on this and it looks really good. The figures are really well done, quite a bit of detail too. This comes with 12 plastic Riders of Rohan (Spearmen, Bowmen, and Swordsmen on horseback) and 20 Fighting Uruk-Hai (Pikemen and Swordsmen). These are going to be a lot of fun to paint. Once these are done, then it might be time to look at getting some of the main characters. The elves at Helm's Deep would also be nice!

Yes, I also play GW's LOTR game. I was personally disapointed about the movie, however. It was not at all like the book, changed so much that the violence was the only reason that I liked the film.

Hey, I would love to try that game out. Any where that I can find out where people near me play it though. I live in NY and I know none of my friends play it but is there a site that gives you locations of sale and organization?

Well a couple of things you might look into...

Visit your local hobby/gaming store. Some of the larger stores may host regular events or gaming nights. The one here by me has stuff going on almost every night (different types of games and stuff tho').

Games Workshop also has a new club site for the US - Regiments of Renown - Gaming Clubs. Try looking here for any clubs which might be in your area.

Watch the Games Workshop site for Events which might be coming to your area.

You may also want to look for a Games Workshop Hobby Center in your area. I've heard these stores are very nice. A buddy of mine visited one and they sat down and showed him how to play and provided him a lot of information.
