I'm using some of the Hobby Fan Modern accessories in a diorama I'm working on. The detail is superb and the are they only place (that I know of) making a model of the MOLLE II rucksack. Good luck.

Thank you both for your help. It seems that a combat scene will be easier to make, figure wise.
Thanks again,
Mike.

Verlinden and Hobby Fan have each a kit "Modern US Equipment".

You could use these to update figures from the 90's.
Hobby fan also has two kits of US Marines:

Most modern set is the Dragon Modern US Marines. They can represent USMC or US Army troops in Iraq. Available at Great Models Webstore: http://www.greatmodels.com/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=dr3027

You can also take any of the other Dragon "modern" US figure sets from Operation Desert Storm era and swap out the Modern Marine torsos to get different poses. The only real difference is newer IBA (Interceptor Body Armor) worn by Modern Marine figures.

I am looking for modern American infantry men (1/35) for an Iraq Dio with my M1A1, I'm not sure if I am going to set it up as a combat scene, or a relaxed scene. I guess it will depend on which type of figure I can find more of. If you know where I can pick some figures up at, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Mike.
