Painting figures in camo patters
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 1:39 PM
Can someone give me some tips on how to do the 1/35 scale figures where they are shown in the pics to be wearing camo jackets and stuff like that?
My loader in my King Tiger kit was supposed to be like that but it just looked a little stupid so I made his jacket a solid color. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

What you might try doing is find patterns for the camo you need on line or in reference books like the Osprey series or even the box art on Dragon/DML sets. Get some sheet stock or index cards and paractice copying the patterns. When you are able toget a good looking reproduction, paint the same pattern on the figure. Try to vary the pattern along the seam between large sections and on patch pockets since these were not matched up at the factory.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
