Thanks for the comments Ernire and "paz". As I mentioned, pegaso has released some beautiful figures lately. I got mine from "the Sentinel". The casting was excellent, and required only a little minor clean up. I am definately going to add another pegaso kit to my collection.

That's very cool, I have always wanted to do a kit like this, I will have to check into Pegaso kits.

I checked that review out and thought it was great. So I guess my figure's name is Dietricht? Fascinating to think it represents a real person that actually fought at Tannenburg. Thanks for the tip Mike.

Glenn,

Was perusing another forum and found this.

It has not only some nice reference of this figure that you've done, but also some background info on the heraldry for the piece.

Enjoy.

Thanks for your comments guys. I took the shots outside to make use of the natural light (it was -20 degrees Celsius at the time!). I am going to go and do some more reading in my cameras operating manual to see if I can find a white light balance button. That sounds better than freezing my rear end off waiting for the clouds to pass over.

Looks great. Excellent work on the heraldry.
As to the picture.
Does your camera have a button for white balance?
Try increasing the lighting. I use the same 3 incandescnt lights on swing arms I use to build under for my "studio" shots.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I wish I could claim that alot of research yielded the heraldry, but the truth is that I copied it right off the box art. I did hand paint it all, so it's not a dry transfer but the result of very small brushes and a magnfying glass. I tried to recreate the original paint job as much as possible in fact, as the paint scheme from Pegaso really inspired me. I'm sorry I can't shed any historic light on the origins of the heraldic design.

I am a big fan of Pegaso. The level of work coming from their sculptors now is incredible. As their medieval line develops I will certainly pick up more to add to my growing list of projects.

I'm curious, what was the inspiration for the heraldry of Herr Hochmeister? It is very well done.

Very excellent painting. The color of the pic has a blue cast that detracts from full enjoyment, but enough can be seen to tell it is very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Mike. This was a pleasure to build, and for the quality of kit, I thought the price was very reasonable indeed. Pegaso has come out with a number of excellent releases lately that are well worth checking out, especially if you enjoy ancients to the medieval period.

Teutonic Knight from Pegaso

I am celebrating the purchase of a new digital camera by sharing with you all my latest figure. This is Pegaso's Teutonic Grand Master 14th century in 75mm scale. As some will no doubt notice, the snow effect was accomplished courtesy of some fine advice from members of this forum, so my thanks to you all.

I was very happy with the way the figure turned out, but a little less so with my photography. Oh well, my wife will not allow me any more hobbies, so I will happily concentrate on the modeling. This is also my entry in the "Old Guns" Group Build, so I hope the organizers of that GB find it alright. Comments and criticisms would be welcomed. Thanks for looking.
