What colour for Aussie Nam camos?

I think the colours were pretty much the same as the us, a faded olive drab.

I believe that "jungle green" is a closer description to the colour, but the kit/clothes would have faded pretty quickly in the climate over there.
The Australian War Memorial has a good photo site with lots of colour photos from Vietnam. Have a look at www.awm.gov.au.
I want to model Aussie troops from the Boer war to "now", so hopefully I get the time to also try and model some "diggers" from Vietnam.

Yeah i looked at the photos and a poster i bought recently. The Aussie camos were not the american olive drab but jungle green and it did fade quickly turning into a grey like colour.

PS. does any company make paint in the colour jungle green. If not can anyone please tell me what colours to mix to make it.

G'day, The Jungle Green used by the Australians is a hard one to keep in your head. It could vary from a dark green with grey undertones to a faded green with grey undertones. There is another source you might like to try and that is the Infantry Museum at the Singleton Army Base near Singleton in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales (NSW). The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but I will try and find out if they have a web site or their correct Postal Address. Keep watching this space. Dai

Aussie uniforms were a dark green that faded quickly to a grey-green, like the US jungle fatigues faded to a pale green, all of it tinted reddish brown by the laterite dust that was everywhere. Some Australian recon units occasionally wore US-made ERDL pattern fatigues, but this was the exception rather than the rule. - Ed

OK back again. I contacted the Infantry Museum at the Singleton Army Base (2-6570-3222) and the Sgt. said "Same as theirs ,mate." so that seems to be that.
Incidently there were "Australian" troops fighting in the Maori wars and in the Boxer Rebelion although Australia as a nation did not come into being until 1/1/1901.
