Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

Very nicely rendered. I especially like the beard. It looks very realistic for a 54 mm figure. Well done.

Looking good.

I myself got 2 1/6 skills hitting the workbench at the end of the month.
Need to get some entries for upcoming competitions.

One will be 98% OOB as it comes with a base, will only do a few mods to replace a few warped clear parts and to add a 3V candle light to it.

The other is a Japanese Anime kit in 1/6 scale (Intron Depot) that will be transported in a dark future/low-tech dungeon setting.
Base + Water and Backdrop will be fully scratch-build.
Kit reviews are in the upcoming issue of the Modellers Gazette and the coming month will have features about the builds.

NIcely done. I assume you are planning something big, or are you in a viking phase of figure painting?

Sounds like it could be good.

Nice job of painting. Looks like he's ready for some pillaging. Thanks for sharing.

This is the first of several Vikings I'm doing. This one is Andrea's older casting and compared to the more recent items on my desk, he appears very slight. As casted, he wears only a moustache, but I wanted wilder look. I used a product called "Hair-Coat" available from http://www.smallshopeu.com/Hair-Coat%20Page.htm to give him his long, bifurcated beard. He's painted mostly in Andrea/Vallejo acrylics with a bit of oils for some of the shading. The bronze is Citadel's Dwarf Bronke and the chain mail is MM Burnt Metal metalizer with a wash of Payne's Grey oil.
