Book

Okay, this is the last new topic for a while, I swear. How much difference is there between the first and second editions of Shep Paine's How TO Build Dioramas book. I heard it had a good section on figure modelling. Is there enough of a difference to warrant an extra $12.00? Thanks.

Sorry, can't rally help there.

Never bothered with the book as it covers little of the builds I do and I found
other sources that are better suited for me.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer either. While I know I have a copy of the second edition, I don't think I have a copy of the first edition to compare it with.

If you're looking specifically for figures, you may also want to take a look at How to Paint Realistic Military Figures, second edition.

The only real difference is the new one has newer dios in it, and he does go into alittle more detail on scratching figs. but i feel it's just a starting point. I did buy it and I do have both, i feel it was worth it. Yet I did get a 40% employee discount, at the time.

I liked the first edition better, only because it had more coverage of some of my favorite work done by Shep, but they are both good, basic guides.
