Thanks Larry! I really appreciate the info. Can't wait to get started on these.

No problem. They are fun models, and it is an incredibly fascinating period in history -- extremely complicated and rich. You could spend your whole life studying the Hundred Years War era in Europe and never learn everything!

Hello All.

I recently (today) have aquirred a large number of 1/72 scale IMEX/Accurate Hundred Years War Knights, Men-at-Arms, & such. I would like to paint them as historically accurate as possible. Does anyone know of any good reference materials that would be helpful & historically correct? Thanks!

Sure. Look at the Osprey books on the Hundred Years War -- there are lots of them in these sections of Osprey's website:

Warrior series
http://www.ospreypublishing.com/combo_list.php/per=41~ser=WAR (the English Medieval Knight books, for 1300-1400 and 1400-1500)

Men At Arms series
http://www.ospreypublishing.com/combo_list.php/per=41~ser=MAA (Armies of Crecy and Poitiers, Armies of Agincourt, Armies of Medieval Burgundy, Henry V and the Conquest of France, French Armies of the Hundred Years War)

Campaign series
http://www.ospreypublishing.com/combo_list.php/per=41~ser=CAM (Agincourt, Crecy, Orleans, Poitiers -- but keep in mind the illustrations in the Campaign books are often lifted from the Men at Arms and Warrior books)

If you can find it, look also for the book published by Wargames Research Group called Armies of the Middle Ages, Volume 1. Author and illustrator is Ian Heath. No color illustrations, but it has an extensive heraldry section in the back, and extensive line illustrations to show you which kinds of armour knights and foot soldiers wore in different periods of history. Good luck.
