1/35th Figure preferences

My vote goes to Tamiya and DML! Their figures are good.

Verlinden has some good resin figures. Another company that may surprise you in terms of quality and amount of product are figures from Jaguar Models.

On their website, they dont offer much in terms of info, but on other sites and or on eBay, you can check out their impressive line of 1/35 resin figures.
As for plastic figures, I like Zvezda. Believe me, they acually make good figures.

I like more the dragon figures but using resin heads from verlinden, just drilling the neck

Yes. I purchase the style of figure I need, and I don't really care who makes it. The plastic figs are cheaper, but for some of what I am building, I have gone up scale to resin cast figures that have better detail or a more appropriate pose to them.

I like both Tamiya and DML...... but I guess my overall preference would have to be DML. As it's been said previously, the DML figures do look proportionate, and are well detailed....and reasonably priced also.

I'm really impressed with Tristar and Alpine Miniatures for character and variety. I have only seen images and reviews, but I'm desperate for the DAK set Tristar offers.

I've done a litte research on Tristar figs and read they come with PE parts...I'm trying to figure out what these would be...straps/belts maybe?

Dragon is making some nice poses and the facial detail is really nice.
Tamiya still has alot of nice poses, but lack in the facial detail especially if you have one of the older figure packs.
Verlinden, Warriors, Yanks, Alpine, Nemrod, Mustang, Carter & Crowley, Hornet & Wolf, and Legend all make nice resin figs with some great poses and facial detail. But these are pricey and can break the bank on a large dio or vigentte populated with lots of figures.

Italeri and Acadamey make some nice kits but I don't like the detail and sometimes the proportions seem wrong. The poses are awfully stiff too.

In any case you can mix and match some of these and many of the above mentioned resin figure companies also make "head sets" with different head gear, hair styles, facial expressions and ethnicities that you can do a little frankenstein engineering to get just what you want to match the perfect figure with your setting.

I've been happy with Tamiya and Dragon figs, as they are easier to come by and not too pricey. I did go out and spend quite a bit on several Verlinden sets of WWII Pacific theater Marines for a LVT dio I'm puttering around with. I just couldn't really find what I was looking for in plastic figures.

I think the Verlinden are the best, but as you say, expensive. Also, although their range is limited, Ultracast makes some excellent resin figures.

of Dragon and Tamiya I would take dragon figures myself. I have alot of them and they seem to look alot nicer in Dio's

I have used both, but i'm beginning to vear towards Dragon as the selection and price are better though I usually change the head's as they are to generic. I'm using figure's from about 7-8 dragon kits right now for my largest dio to date. miller41 is right Tristar has some nice figures too.

I prefer Dragon's new figures as well, very nicely detailed. Tamiya's are nice too

Tristar if you can get them, really good figures IMHO

Pesonally prefer Dragon. Tamiya figures still look too small to me and too thin. I prefer Dragon's Modern Figures though.
