First Figure Suggestions
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 2:10 AM
Hello all, I am interested in trying out my first figure. I was hoping you could point me in the right direction for a nice beginner figure. Please keep in mind I have no artistical talent whatsoever, and have never even attempted a figure even in the kits I have built. I would just like something that you would feel teaches a lot about doing figures, without making me want to hurt the figure....lol....ohhhh and I am NOT afraid of hard work, just interested in a lot of learning!! Thanks in advance!!

I'd suggest a Pegasso figure of a subject you like. Check out the line at http:/www.sentinelminiatures.com or http://www.redlancers.com I don't think I've ever done a Pegasso that didn't have near perfect fit. Facial scuplting is top notch, a real plus when trying to get a lifelike appearance. Next in consistent quality in Andrea. This applies to 54mm. I'd avoid Verlinden. Fit is often a problem and many poses are very awkward and stiff and facial detail is often soft.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

You can check at many shop for a metal figure at any scale you want with few pieces.
Then try anything you want and if you dont like OK...Use some oven cleaner to clean paint and try it again and again!!!
