Most weapons are what is called Parkerized or Blued. Parkerized is a dull gray to gray-green finish. Blued is a dark bleu-gray color to almost black. To represent these, you can mix flat black with a silver color. The more or less black to gray will vary the color, darker or lighter. You can also add a little green to get that tint as well. You just have to play with the mix until you get something you like. Lastly, coat the weapon in dullcoat to give it a totally flat finish.

for Parkerised finish, Tamiya Nato black is a good chioce to start with. I polish it to a bit of a sheen, and use graphice powder to make the edges appear worn. Sometimes a lighter grey is needed, so I mix in a little light grey.

For Blued steel I use black mixed with dark blue, depending on the desired finish, and polish and use graphite again.
