You have pretty much all of it. Once most of the paint is off your brush, you have to pull the brush across the surface, using more of a flick than the steady hand of normal painting. You shouldn't thin the paint, as the whole idea is to brush dry. Actully, thick paint works better for Drybrushing.

You basically have it. The paint needs to be thick, hence wiping most of it off. Works best for me to wipe off on a paper towel and them gently scrub the brush (with small amount of pigments left on it) around on the area I want to drybrush. This will make the details and smaller items pop out.

Dry Brushing Question

Can some explain how to Dry Brush? Do you just dip the brush into the paint and rub most of the paint off of the brush but not all of it and then brush it on? Should the paint be thinned or not when dry brushing?
