I don't build figures much, so apologies for my first post in this newsgroup being a "cry for help". The bulk of my kitbuilding is tanks and other "non-organic" themes. I like to expand my subject matter though, and figures provide a degree of personalization and customization not found in the other genres.
I found some dry transfers I'd like to use as tattoos on a "testbed" 1/9 figure model I bought for < $10. I've worked with dry tranfers on other models like tanks and the like, so working with the medium isn't brand new to me. Considering the tattoo is used on an uneven form means I might need several applications of a setting solution; I've had to use it when applying water slide and dry transfer decals on uneven or curved surfaces before, so Im ufamiliar with using them.
My question is this: When to apply them? After the base coat(s) but before highlights/shadows? Anyone have experience using dry transfers in this manner?
Regards,
