Hi.
Have you checked out www.missing-lynx.com for painting guides.
I think there is a few articles there for painting figures that will surely help you out.
By the way, welcome to the FS Forums.

I was sorely tempted to buy this figure, but I knew it was beyond my ability, even for my familys tartan. Depending on which tartan you wish to try, and if you are doing it to sett or to stripe, you might try narrow strips of colored decal film. Most of the wild and crazy ultra-complex setts are relatively modern creations.

Thanks for the welcome and the info I'll check it out. It is daunting to think about doing a creditable job on this fine figure.

Look in one of the FSM magazine and look for Sentenial Minitures looked in Ballaston Spa. They came out a few years ago with a book on paints figures and there is a good section about painting tartans. They have a website and when I find it, I will post a link to it.
