Thanks Gringe! Civil war Zouaves, and their French forebearers from the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-71 are enjoying a bit of a comeback in the historic figure world. I'd say it's exactly because of their colourful uniforms and the even more colourful characters that served in these units that form the attraction. There are quite a few available in 54 mm scale from a wide variety of manufacturers if you're interested in painting a few up for yourself. Cheers.

ACW Zouave SCAHMS Souvenir

Hi All;

I picked this fellow up from the vendor tables at the SCAHMS show held this past March in Anahiem. I believe it was sculpted by John Rosengrant for the Warriors label a few years back. It was definately a treat to see the artist in person, and see his latest work. It was a surprisingly easy figure to put together and paint. The sculpting was flawless, and I don't think I used any filler at all. Hope you enjoy seeing him as much as I did building the kit.

Sorry the last shot is out of focus...I guess I need a little more work on my close ups.

Cheers;
Glenn
