Philip, yes, she is a little further along, I hope to finish her off this weekend. 9x19mm, I played, I was one of the original tournament judges and traveled to the first Gen Cons. My youngest boy - the one who just moved out - does occasional work for the gentleman who owns TSR these days. Just last night we had a gaming session here until the wee hours of the morning. That does not happen too often any more. I still have my original player records sheets from the 70s and 80s, a insane dwarf who fluctuates from chaotic evil to chaotic good on the roll of the dice, when he is in the good mode he bears a complete allergic reaction to clothing. He wanders (nude) in a lost swamp these days looking for random group encounters so he can introduce characters to his patron god, Chuz - the master of madness. His charizma is pretty high so he gets lots of followers but they tend to get killed off real quick. Oh yeah, he also has hill giant strength so things can get a little wierd. Originally he was called Angolo Lan of the Red hills but has since changed his name to Sheave the Wailer. He wails to his god at random times, usually when the group he is with is trying to hide or sneak up on stuff. Generally he likes to wade into combat bare handed and only resorts to using his mother of a sword when he gets pissed off. He once traveled to the Lost Isle (before the whole insanity thing started) in a group, successfully murdered most of the group for their belongings (nobody ever caught on that it was him) and only missed getting the rest of the group because the stupid Paladin caused the island to sink. Did I mention that his previous profession was a fresh water sailor? That's probably part of what started the whole insanity thing .... heh heh heh heh

Looks really good swanny. Out of curiosity did you play AD&D or just paint the miniaturers?

OK Swanny,
Saw the pic of your new work area and see that she is a little further along. Now that you are done with the model room project, please finish her so we can get a good looksee.
and post those painting tips. I have 2 Catwoman figures in the stash and the Gathering is getting closer.

Wow! I have never done figures but both of these are interesting (get your minds out of the gutters Wink [;)], just something different from the usual historical figures and such)

I might have to do some research on the anime and warrior type figures...

And by the way, both figures look great! I'll have to watch this thread for some pointers on painting them...

She's a vinyl figure from Mc Farlane Toys with many joints.
Its plastic is semi hard an its like half an action figure and half a statue.
But with some filling and carefull painting, it can be a beauty...
Here some more...Smile [:)]

Swanny,

You using an airbrush or regular brush for your skin tones? They look excellent.

I must say, Swanny. Never woulda thought you'd build a girl. However, we all need a "break" from our norm. Just keep her hidden Mischief [:-,]

Looks good so far. Wonder how long til that dreaded rot button comes along.
I posted a pic of a scantily clad lady around xmas that got yanked, even though none of the good bits were showing.
Just make sure she is on your site if we lose this thread.

Swanny,
You are becoming a genuine "Dirty Old Man", almost as bad as me. Nice work on the young "Lady".

Okay, the legs and one arm are pinned and superglued. I still have a little work to do around the inner hip area. I want to paint the left foot and left hand before that arm gets attached to try and make the overall painting at their overlap easier. She is coming along at a very good pace I think.

Tankmaster7, the figure title is 'Chiduru Kasiwaki Drunk' and she is a 1/8 Anime figure. The original cast was done in Japan and ran about $100. This is a recaste and cost me a quick eight bucks. The surface quality is not great so I have spent three evenings of modeling just getting her all cleaned up. Even now I still have some issues around the fingers and feel one more sand and prime session should take care of the final details.

I have been playing with Ceramcoat paints mixing my own flesh tones. If you have not used these acrylic paints before go check them out. They are at Wal Mart and cost about 88 cents a bottle. They thin with windex and water and are really nice. I mixed some sample flesh tones the other night and did six 11mm figures in rapid succession - did not require the tonal levels that this figure will but was fun. With luck this weekend I'll be putting my Beer Babe together.

I dunno Swanny. My wife puts up with my modeling habit, but If I started doing half naked Anime figures, I figure my modeling days would come to an abrupt end Smile [:)].

Got tired of aircraft - for a little while.
Posted by Swanny on Monday, July 11, 2005 8:54 PM
Needed to take a break from modeling aircraft for a while. Was cruising E-Bay and found this - it really sparked my interest. Now I've never done a figure of this scale before, only lots of little AD&D figures, so this should be pretty interesting.
Here are the various parts for the kit ...

I have been working over the parts filling various imperfections with Mr. Surfacer 500 and sanding. The arms and legs are already primed and drying - here is the torso in progress ....
