A few color questions.
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 15, 2005 6:54 PM
I recently purchased a kit of 1:35 scale soviet motor rifles troops in winter unifroms. However, the painting instructions are vague, at best. I was wondering a few things about what colors should be used for what. I'd like if you could give me some ideas about what colors should be used for:
Their Unifroms,
the fur on their hats and neckpieces
The wooden stocks and ammunition cases of their AK-74 rifles.
Also, The slightly ligther color of their equiptment straps.

To help you figure out just what I'm talking about, here are some reference pictures. the Uniform color I'm looking for most closesly resembles that of #3 in the second picture.

umm can I suggest you just look at the pic while thinking of a colour, to me it looks Olive Drab, soviet style, I know Model Master makes a Soviet OD. But to someone else that could look faded green or something.. I dunno, just bring the book, grab some green paints and compare them to the picture by tipping them upside down and seeing what the paint colour looks like!
