HI guys;
Thanks for the comments. I have to agree, this line of figures is first rate. I saw the military ones, and everything about them was great. The pose, weapons, everything! All you need to do is spruce them up a little. We don't have any Kay-bee stores, at least not in Western Canada. But we do have Walmart (who doesn't?) and they are a great value. Who knows, maybe this is will turn into a whole new line of the figure hobby?

I don't know if they have Kay-Bee toy stores in Canada-but they sell these figures for a song.

Ghamilt1, great job on that figure...and great idea!

I've got to get my hands on one of these Mcfarlane military figures and repaint it. Wouldn't that be sooo cool?

Yeah Mcfarlane has a line of military figs now also that are pretty good but would look alot better if repainted and had more detail done to their weapons(wich I plan to do).And there's a scond series of them coming out in awhile.

Nice work, Ghamilt! I remember Frank and Bobby Orr and Ken Dryden and Bobby Hull, et al. I was a goalie back in my youth. McFarlane has figures from the movie "Slapshot" as was as "Bob and Doug Mackenzie" and many more (all well done).

Hi all; I just finished repainting a McFarlane hockey collectable figure and had a blast doing it. They are generally 12", and vinyl. One of the best things was that it only cost $14.00 Canadian. I was amazed at the quality of the casting, especially on the face, as it actually bears a striking resemblance to the real Frank Mahovlich. I used a white acrylic primer over the original paint. This allowed the oils I use to "stick", and the original colour showed through just enough to act as a guide.

For those of you not steeped in Canadian Hockey lore, this is Frank Mahovlich, one of the games all time greats from the 50's and 60's. Our government made him a senator (Canadian senators are appointed) so that shows you how much we love our hockey heros.

Seeing as I usually do military figures, this was a fun change of pace, and if you're into sports, I understand Mcfarlane has an extensive line of sport figures just waiting for some repainting.
