D&D Chainmail figures: Was it good buy?
Posted by Borg R3-MC0 on Friday, November 25, 2005 3:59 PM

I useally build aircraft, but every now and then I paint some fantasy figurines. Most of the time thes are Warhammer figurines because they are so easy to get.

But today I purchased a small box of D&D Chainmail figures, a "faction" box with 6 figurines. They are made in pewter, and look nicely cast. I payed € 6 (about $6) for the the box. I think it was a good buy ($1 a figure sounds good to me) but I'm not so familiar with the "minatures market".

So what do you think, was it a good buy? (bear in mind that I only use them for painting, I don't play the games)

In a word, yes, it was a good deal. I was paying more than that 25 years ago for 25mm figures.

I would say it was a good buy.  $1 a figure is cheap.  The D&D Chainmail didn't seem to be real popular.  I've also noticed some of the same boxes sitting in the clearance baskets at HobbyTown for months.

Quickest way to get an idea of prices is to check eBay and check completed auctions.
