Painting military figures
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 21, 2006 6:40 AM
Hi folks,
I was wondering if anybody had any good links or info for painting military figures. A year ago I found an online PDF that covered everything from base colours to washes on clothing and washes for flesh etc.

Unfortunately it was on my old computer and it crashed, which meant that I lost it.Angry [:(!]

I'm interested in the nitty-gritty of painting and washes.

Any help would be most appreciated.Smile [:)]

Jono;

Try this link to get you started. http://www.ww2modelmaker.com/articlepub/GinoPoppe_Faces_article.htm

The other suggestion I would make is to pick up a copy of these books.

How to Paint Realistic Military Figures,  first or second edition
By Lynn Kessler, Don Winar

Modelling and Painting Figures  Osprey Modelling Manuals

by Jerry Scutts

BUILDING AND PAINTING SCALE FIGURES

by Sheperd Paine (Kalmbach Books, 1995, ISBN 0-89024-069-8)

These are just a few of the books I have on the shelf that I use on a regular basis to help with my figures.

I hope this will help you.

Cheers;

Gregory

Bill Horan's Military Modeling Master Class by Bill Horan is another good one.

 Schiffer Publications has some decent titles on the subject as well.

Great info!  I haven't really done much of figures, but I think info Greg just provided with, I should be able to get some work done.

Although I guess your tank commander must really have lost his head! He's running over his own troops in the top photo! lolClown [:o)]Smile [:)]
