lets see I believe they wore a dark colored uniform probably black or dark gray and I am not sure if they blacked out their faces or not but the NachtJagers did use the early infrared night vision devices for movement and target tracking. does anyone know if the same colored uniforms were used by American night fighters.

most likely they used regular combats with tuques and sweaters instead of combat shirts and helmits.

well if you are going to paint the hands and face of your German NachtJager's paint it with your usual flesh colored paint. Then once the paint is fully dry drybrush some black onto the face and the back of the hands to simulate the coal used (or some other medium used at the time) for darkening the face to eliminate the shininess of the face during night ops.
