No need for the recipe, unless someone else would like to know. Just wondered what medium you worked in. I work the same: Acrylic base, oils and Humbrol. I use some other enamels too, MM and some auto modeling paints for metalics, but I like Humbrol generally speaking.

I never know my recipes. I just mix until it looks right. I know whether I need more red, or yellow, or what have you, and I just dial it in.

Very nicely painted Glen.  The uniform details look very crisp.

Thanks PM. I usually "prime" my figures with an acrylic (brushed on), then paint over with artists oils and humbrol enamels. Shadows and highlights are done exclusively with the artist oil paint. I finish off with a shot of acrylic matt clear (Model Master) through my trusty airbrush. Sorry I don't have the exact recipe of colour for you, as I didn't pay that much attention. Perhaps next time I'll write it down for myself, and have it handy if anyone is curious.

Nice work. Almost looks like a Bill Horan original he did some years ago. I think the pose was a little different though. He did a couple 17th figures, including one looking mournfully, and exhausted at a spent canon ball after the Charge of the Light Brigade debacle.

Anyway, very nice work. What do you paint in?

Hi everyone. Just thought I would share my latest work, which is Andrea miniatures 17th Lancer from the Crimean War. I usually work in larger scales, so this is a bit of a new direction for me. I also tried out a few new wrinkles with my digital camera setup, so I'm curious to see how it comes across online. Anyway. I hope you enjoy seeing it, and of course I would welcome any tips, comments or criticisms.

Cheers.

Glenn
