I use the lead foil from the tops of wine bottles - it's thin and cuts easily and takes all sorts of paint.
I personally think the that the weave on the medical tape is a little large and out of scale.
A side benefit is that you get to drink the wine after you rip off the lead foil................

I go with the leadfoil - it works, has weight to hang naturally and takes paint very well. If you do'nt find it, take ordinary aluminium foil, glue two layers together, and it works just as well.

Airbrush,

Years ago VLS marketed their lead foil. It was thin enough to use as strap and you can actually position the material in a very realistic fashion. It can be punched and painted and will accept superglue. I slice strips from the sheet which I then used as straps. Im not sure if that is still being marketed, though. A cheaper alternative would be the foil used in toothpaste tubes (although now plastics are more commonly used).

Hope this helps.

I've used this product for other things but think it might work for your needs too .... medical bandage tape (the white stuff that comes in a roll). Has a great texture, is easy to work with, takes paint, and best of all .... cheap.
