I think the updates look nice. I would add some blackwash to all the parts to bring out the details alot. His uniform still looks a big shinny, might just be the picture, Nice Job !!!

You're right about the eyes. Way too wide. And too white. Try toning the white down with a very small amount of blue or flesh color. Also, you will want to add more highlights and shadows to the flesh tones. Increase the size of the iris to about 1/2-2/3 of the eye socket. In this scale, use blue, brown or green and add a black pupil. You might even want to consider adding a tiny drop of white to show a reflection point.

You have a good start on your shading and highlighting on the inuform, buit you scould use more. One spot that jumps out is the underside of the fold on the right knee. To see where you need more shadows (and highlight) hold the figure under a single light source, like a desk lamp. Also, try adding a couple more values of color to the highs and lows so they blend in better. For highlights on the black leather boots, add some fl;esh to the basic black. Better yet, start with a very dark gray, use black for the shadows and the aforementioned black/flesh for the highlights.

The one thing that really needs to be fixed is the mold line on the head of the grenade in the figure's left hand.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Now that's much better. The matt coat does make a lot of difference.

Regarding the trousers, if you have reference showing them green (feldgrau), it must be correct. I knew they were blue-gray; some pics even show enlisted men with blue-gray trousers.

Of course in war time you run out of stock and all combinations are possible.

Again, great figure.Thumbs Up [tup]

Doesn't look bad for a first figure, but ...

  • I'm afraid the trousers are in the wrong color. Officers had gray trousers (similar to german tank blu-gray).
  • It looks like this officer is wearing a latex uniform, try coat it with a matt varnish, best if sprayed on with airbrush or can.
  • I can't say anything about the face since on the camera's flash (I presume) overexposed it. So it's not clear how it really looks like. My suggestion is try to take the picture without flash and mout the camera on a tripod if necessary (you'll have to increase the exposing time).

Don't get me wrong, I do think it's a good fiugre, I'm only poiting out the flaws. My 2 cents [2c]

Keep up the good work!Thumbs Up [tup]
