German Infantryman Winter Camou - finished pics!

As mentioned in my previous progress post, this is a Tamiya 1 /16 figure with one of those ceramic Verlinden bases which also included a resin jerrycan.  Mainly used Tamyia and Andrea acrylics and some Prisma pencil crayons for finer details.
Scratch built helmet rivets and vent holes with Squadron putty, adding a drop of white glue to give more time to work the shapes.  Recognition armband and weapon strap made from lead foil.  Snow is from Woodland Scenics and was sprinkled on after spraying surfaces with hairspray.
The left hand had to be cut at the knuckles and then reattached to give a better grip look on the barrel.

Spectacular! Truly. I can only get results at that level with oils. Just can't hack acrylics. My hat's off, sir. Beautiful work.

Amazing work! The best part about the flesh tones on the face are that they appear "flushed"....just like someone would if they were out in the cold! I haven't seen this done before, and you really accomplished it spectacularly!

I can't get the right color for the skin even if my life depends on it.  Nicely done!

hi everyone, thanks for all the great comments!

plymonkey - different mediums require different techniques.  Acrylics dry fairly fast so instead of blending one has to rely on washes and drybrush.

m1garand - not sure how you approach skin colour, but to start I suggest never use black to darken the tones.  This just makes it look muddy.

MontanaCowboy - Must be the camera angle.  If you look at his other hand you will notice he is wearing 3-finger type gloves, so I assure you he has the correct finger on the trigger.  Smile [:)]

This is simply incredible!  The only thing I have to say is that the snow flakes are not reallistics.  Is it me or there is no decent product to replicate snow.  I never saw a good reproduction of snow.

And I will have to build a winter diorama for my Flak 36,  I wonder how I will do this.

Anyway, you did an amazing job on that figure, I whish I could do such work.

No matter where you go ....... there you are.
