Yeah, that DML chopper crews are really hard to find.  Once in awhile it is on Ebay, but prices can get pretty high.  Heavyarty posted up some helicopter crews that you can buy from various manufacturers on Helicopter forum.  Hope one day dragon will re-release that kit again.

m1garand;

I saw this kit on eBay tonight. Check eBay item # 6061527122.

Thanks for the info Greg!  Wow, that thing is going for a premium price.  I hope DML would re-release it some time in near future.

m1garand;

It went for a premium price someone bought it for $25.00 CDN.

Hopefully DML will re-release a lot of the kits.

Speaking of premium price have you seen the ridiculous price on the R.P. Hunnicutt Sherman book, One guy on eBay currently has a copy selling for $800.00!!! Now I know that it is considered to be "the" book on the Sherman tank and it is currently out of print, but seriously it is not that rare of a book. I wish Presidio Press would reprint it and that would drop the price on the used copies to reasonable amounts.

Cheers;

That is still a bargain price.  That set usually goes for around $50 USD on eBay.

What's the reason behind these companies from discontinuing production?  Is it because there is no demand for it? Or is it because they don't have enough machineries to keep on running production?

Seems that DML does limited runs from time to time.  I'm guessing it is in order to keep costs down, they don't have huge numbers of casting machines and it is cheaper to rotate what they make than to have them in continual production.  As you can see, the demand is definitely there.

DML is rereleasing some of the older stuff with a few Photoetech pieces, heads/faces improved ,perhaps slightly more detailed weapons sets .   They do have a habit of rehashing old kits , but the reviews I have seen of the newest ones have been pretty good .    They make pretty good figure sets anyways ,the weak spot would be the head detail , ears are nonexistant at times .    The next gen (second generation ?) kits are very nice , about as close to resin or metal as one could come in styrene .
