Welcome to the Dark Side.  :)

To continue down this path is not for the faint of heart or the financially poor.  ;)

Not to mention all the hours painting the same type of figure over and over and over...  it's like the modeler's version of Groundhog's Day.  Laugh [(-D]

That tends to support the spray can actually being lacquer (these can stink badly) and the fact that the jars that I'm familiar with are acrylic :)

i'm not sure what exactly it is, but as i recall, it's pretty foul smelling stuff. i prefer krylon flat black or flat white primer for my WH40K figures. also take note, the chaos black from the spray can comes out slightly different from the chaos black from the jar, i've had the problem where i've had to repaint entire expanses of guys because i tried fixing it, and that showed that the two paints didn't match. so mutch for havng the same name!

Nothing dries faster than lacquers. However, the only Citadels I use are acrylic.

Question on Citadel paint....

Last week I ventured myself in buying a Warhammer 40k set (Battle for Macrage), knowing practically nothing on this whole WH thing I bought the paints from the same manufacterer too, including an aerosol of "Chaos Black".

After priming my first assembled figure (Lt Vargas) with this black stuff, I was very surprised that it was dry to the touch by the time I placed the cannister back on the closset.... what kind of paint is that ??? I says "lak" (Dutch for lacquer) but I really can't believe that seeing how fast it dries...
