Pics of a Verlinden 120mm Brit Paratrooper, Arnhem 1944

Hi Figure Fans!

As requested by Wolfp, here are some pics of another figure that I completed about 2 years ago. Also a Verlinden kit. It went together fairly well with a bit of squadron white here and there. This figure is also painted in Winsor & Newton Acrylics.

Enjoy

Arthur

Really nice work Panzerjaeger.  The uniform is really nice and the flesh tones look great.  I like the groundwork, really adds to the scene.  Enjoyed seeing this.

Cheers

Nicely done figure Arthur. I like the detail on the larger verlinden figures.

His boots and knees could have been muddied up a bit more given the ground work you put him in. He was a para, he should have gotten his knees dirty when he hit...Wink [;)] His boots should have a little more dirt on them especially since you have him standing in some snow covered ground. Especally broken like that, indicating some melting, hence wet or muddy. Which leads me to another question. Why Snow? The Arnhem engagement was September 17-26. As far as I know it may have been cool but not enough to have snow covered ground. (Continuity....?)

You did a great job on his face and the camo on his jacket looks really well done.

Thanks for sharing this.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Have to agree with renarts.

Outstanding work on both the figure and the base, but you could improve the blending of the two.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the positive comments and critiscm. As I said always welcome. I do agree with you guys but bearing in mind this figure was built over two years ago and my blending base to figure was still being perfected. If you noticed, this figure is standing "on" the base and not "in" the base - another little flaw. With regards to the snow in September, it's what you call artistic licence! Seriously though I didn't do my research properly and just assumed that there would have been some snow about. I think this is because here in South Africa, we don't have the luxury of getting any snow at any time! If i think back to when I did this figure, I can think of a load of things I could've done better but it's nice to compare the older figures to my newer ones and see how I have improved.

Once again, thanks for the comments

Cheers, Arthur Blush [:I]Shy [8)]Smile [:)]

Arthur;

Very nice build. Actually seeing your build makes me want to possibly re-do a few items on my Para in Normandy (see the post below yours in this forum) I still have a few bits to add to the groundwork but I think I may repaint the face. We'll see.

Cheers;

Gregory
