Thought I'd share what I've been up to in the last few weeks. Like a lot of modelers I have more than one thing going at a time. The trick for me is to fool around a bit with a figure but then set a firm dead line for completion. It's the only thing that keeps me from adding just one more detail to a figure and never finishing anything. And trust me, these figures are big enought to see any detail you chose to put into them and you just have to draw the line somewhere.
First off is case in point. I started this figure by messing about detailing a German crusher.
That lead to mucking about in some books to find a reference that lead to this.
My oun warped scence fo humor made me add this.
Problem is I now have a SS cap on a Herr uniformed figure! Change tunic or change cap...
Next project began with a chance purchase of a weapon, the Luftfaust B. I then had to figure out how to get it into the field. This is what I've come up with.
Heaps still to do with this figure as I've got to finish off his webbing and personal gear.
And finally there is my flurtation with British Paras. a sucker for all things camoflauged and so I bought a British Para as a whim. I'm still working on his smock but this is where I'm at so far.
This one is only just starting out but coming along nicely.
That's why I love this larger scale stuff. I can chop and change stuff at will and detail to my hearts content or keep it straight out of the box. I'm even considering a more modern Falklands Island Para which would have to be put together form bits and pieces of other figures.
Hope you enjoyed the photos. Thanks for looking.
